The students who have passed
out from the school after completing the various degrees form our Alumni. The school is
proud of its alumni, members of which are holding responsible positions in government,
industry and academia. Where a lot of Alumni have reached top positions in corporate
world, they have not lagged behind in Government and Academics also, we can count several
IAS, IFS officers, Professors, HODs in Universities. In fact one of us has risen to the
level of Vice Chancellor (University of South Gujarat). Some of the alumni have also made
a mark as entrepreneurs in various fields.
The alumni members are
located in every part of the globe, be it distant USA, Australia, Netherlands, Nigeria or
neighboring countries of SAARC.
There has always been a
desire on the part of alumni to meet each other, and to know the latest about their batch
mates and the Alma Mater. There have been very significant attempts by some enterprising
Alumni to form an association of the Alumni members, or at least provide a common forum
for exchange of old memories. Prof. K.K.Uppal (M.Com.'65) formed an association of the
commerce students in 1964-65 and was the first general secretary of the society.
Subsequently Dr. Godbole formed an Association of Management Graduates in late 70s under
the banner of PUBMAA (Panjab University Business Management Alumni Association)
A little later (in eighties)
a group of Alumni based at Delhi (and some other cities) found an association called the
Chandigarh Business Management Alumni (CBMA), which grew from strength to strength and
organized a number of Alumni get-togethers and seminars. There are a large number of
people who have contributed to the success and continuation of the alumni movement. CBMA
has organized three major meets called "drishtikon" so far.
It kept a strong liaison
with the Alma Mater and Provided help in placement and organizing seminars at UBS. Come
what may, CBMA continued to meet regularly through dinner meets.
In 1998, UBS Alumni
Association (UBSAA) was formed and is working towards organizing a number of get-togethers
of the Alumni settled in various parts of the world. In the year 2000, CBMA decided to
merge itself with UBSAA and the Delhi members formed themselves into the Delhi Chapter of
UBSAA continuing with the good work they have been doing for the past several years. Delhi
Chapter continues to be the most vibrant chapter of the association. Meanwhile Alumni at
Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Canada and USA have also formed local
Chapters.

In order to provide a much
wider forum for the Alumni to meet, the UBS Alumni Association, in 1998, decided to
organize Silver Jublee Reunion of the Alumni every year. Under this, all the Alumni who
passed out 25 years ago are being invited for a Reunion, and interaction with the present
batch of students. Not only such a meeting facilitates vital exchange of ideas regarding
syllabus, placement, management development programs, industry expectations but also help
the Alumni to go down the memory lane and relive some of their cherished moments...
The Reunion has now become
an Annual feature and getting popular support from fraternity. For details on the latest
reunion please click here.
